The Buddha is quite joyful as he vibes to the tune of music.“Fresh”This piece was inspired by the legendary rap group Run D.M.C. The “boombox,” big chain, giant glasses, and confident Buddha all represent self-confidence and contentment in one’s own style. He struts with little worry of the opinions of those who criticize him. He is “Fresh.”“Lifted”This piece represents the deep meditative qualities of sound. The Buddha is seen here in deep meditation to the vibration of sound and atmosphere.“DJ Zen”When you enter a night club, you’re surrounded by many. The loud music pumping and your adrenaline pounding. The DJ is the master of vibration in such an environment and this piece represents that. He is in control of his crowd through the power of sound. In this, he finds his Zen.“The Three Wise Buddhas”These three don’t judge…They hear no evil, they see no evil, and they speak no evil.
The images showcased here are from my “Eternal” theme: a collection of acrylic art on canvas, featuring eight original and unique Buddhas expressing themselves through art, music, and meditation. The Buddhas were chosen as the subjects for these pieces, not for religious reasons per se, but to depict the confluence of art and meditation – especially through music – for a modern audience.
